1948 Coup in Czechoslovakia
- A soviet led Czechoslovakian Communist party took over power in 1948
- Use of force (Jan Masaryk was killed)
- Supported military and economically by the USSR
- Was seen as a major threat to spread of Communism in Europe
- Although Yugoslavia becomes Communist (Tito - leader) they do not align with USSR
- 8 different ethnic sections in Yugoslavia
- Albania although having been supported by USSR does not allign either
- Both seen as thorns in the USSRs side
