When David Lloyd George met with Woodrow Wilson and George Clemenceau after the War, they all wanted to settle with Germany in different ways. David Lloyd George's ideas were the "middle ground" between President Wilson and Clemenceau. David Lloyd George wanted Germany to pay for reparations, yet also still keep Germany as a trade partner because Germany and continue expanding their empire.
