The consistent test of bombs and nuclear weapons caused many confrontations during the Cold War. Subsequently of the Cuban Missile crisis, there was a treaty put in place, the Partial Test Band, focusing on the limitation of nuclear weapons. It became Richard Nixon's made focus due to his detente policy.
