The Helsinki Accords took place in Finland in 1975, and it is was important because the meeting consisted of accepting European frontiers, respecting human rights and making it easier to cross borders for society. This meeting was between the USA, USSR, France, UK and 31 other countries. It showed a relieving of tension within the government.
